【Abstract】 Nithiocyamine is a new schistosomicide,The effects of nithiocyamine on the liver functions were studied by histochemical methods.187 mice used for studying were divided into 6 groups.The experimental results showed,under the influence of nithiocyamine the regular rule seemed to be present concerning changes of activities of PAS reaction.SDH,ATPase,CHE,Acp,ALp;there was an obvious,diminishing of PAS reaction,SDH and ATPase.ChE activity in groups with dosage of 250-500 mg/kg ip while the activities of ACP and ALp were elevated.The results showed while administering large doses of nithiocyamine the liver may be damaged.The clinician must attention be careful in patients with abnormal liver function not to overdose them.
