峨嵋山白蚁类的垂直分布及叶白蚁属、散白蚁属新种
STUDY ON VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF TERMITE OF MOUNT EMEI WITH DESCRIPTION OF TWO NEW SPECIES (Isoptera: Kalotermitidae and Rhinotermitidae)
【Abstract】 Mt. Emei, one of the most famous mountains in China, is situated at 103°20’ E, 29°31’ N, in the west of the Sichuan basin.Surveys of termites of the mountain were conducted by the authors et al. during May 1976, Feb. 1979, April and May 1980. In the present paper the authors have listed 11 species, belonging to 3 families, in which two species are new to science. In the regions below the altitude of 1,000 M, termites showing an Oriental affinity is about 64%, while those with a palaearctic affinity only 36%.KEY TO SPECIES OF LOBITERMES FROM CHINASoldiersFrontal area black; anterior and posterior margin of pronotum without emargination, Yunnan (Mt. Dawei, Pingbian) Lobitermes nigrifrons Tsai et ChenColour of frontal area lighter than black anterior and posterior margin of pronotum emarginated at the middle, Sichuan (Mt. Emei) L. emei Gao et al ap. n.1. Lobitermes emei Gao et al., sp. n.SoldierThe new species differs from Lobitermes nigrifrons Tsai et Chen by the body larger, colour of frontal area lighter than black, anterior and posterior margin of pronotum emarginated at the middle, antennae with 10-12, commonly 11 segments in soldiers.Type locality: Mt. Emei, Sichuan Province, soldiers (holotype and paratype), nymphs, collected from an unknown sp. of dead tree by Han Lixin and Gong Anhu, 1980-V-11.2. Reticulitermes emei Gao et al., sp. n.The new species closely resembles Reticulitermes labralis Hsia et Fan, but differs as follows: the head slightly smaller, posterior part of postmentum distinctly narrower and the length of hind tibia slightly shorter.Type locality: Mt. Emei, Sichuan Province, soldiers (holotype and paratype), nymphs, 1 imago, workers, collected from dead tree by Gong Anhu and Han Lixin, 1980-V-12.Holotypes (soldiers) are deposited in the Shanghailnstitute of Entomology, Academia Sinica.Paratypes (soldiers) are deposited separately in the Shanghai Institute of Entomology, Academia Sinica; Nanjing Institute of Termite Control and Chengdu Institute of Termite Control.
