【Abstract】 Mt. Emei, one of the most famous mountains in China, is situated at 103°20’ E, 29°31’ N, in the west of the Sichuan basin.Surveys of termites of the mountain were conducted by the authors et al. during May 1976, Feb. 1979, April and May 1980. In the present paper the authors have listed 11 species, belonging to 3 families, in which two species are new to science. In the regions below the altitude of 1,000 M, termites showing an Oriental affinity is about 64%, while those with a palaearctic affinity only 36%.KEY TO SPECIES OF LOBITERMES FROM CHINASoldiersFrontal area black; anterior and posterior margin of pronotum without emargination, Yunnan (Mt. Reticulitermes emei Gao et al., sp. n.The new species closely resembles Reticulitermes labralis Hsia et Fan, but differs as follows: the head slightly smaller, posterior part of postmentum distinctly narrower and the length of hind tibia slightly shorter.Type locality: Mt.
