中国猿人化石产地鸵鸟蛋壳化石的显微结构和氨基酸组成

【摘要】 中国猿人化石产地鸵鸟蛋壳化石的显微结构和氨基酸组成,和非洲鸵鸟以及马达加斯加隆鸟的有一定的相似性,而与鸸鹋和鹤鸵等有较显著的不同。此外,根据蛋壳化石的显微结构和氨基酸的组成性质,进一步证明中国猿人化石产地发现的鸵鸟蛋壳化石,大部分在石化之前就曾经受过火的烧烤,但是还有一部分蛋壳则没有被烧过。

【Abstract】 Fossil ostrich eggshells from Sinanthropus site, Choukoutien, presumably belonging to the Struthio anderssoni Lowe, have been studied for microstructure and amino acid content by the polarizing microscope, X-ray diffraction and the automatic aminoacid analyser.Examination of these eggshells shows that the prisms in the stratified prismatic layer have different arrangement from the inner to the surface and also that the pore canals, usually are branched. The thickness of these fossil eggshells is 2.2 mm. The amino-acid compositions of eggshell matrix are characterized by a remarkable high content of aspartic acid, glutamic acid, alanine and glycine. According to these results the eggshells under study are more or less similar to those of Struthio cam(?)lus and Aepyornis but they are quite different from those of Casuariiformes.Besides, basing on the microstructure of the fossil eggshells and the amino-acid composition of the fossil eggshell matrix, we hold that most of ostrich eggshells from Sinanthropus site had been burnt before they were fossilized.
