【Abstract】 The present paper describes a new species of chigger mite parasitic on rats fromGuangdong Province. Trombiculindus (Plumosicola) nanlingensis, sp. nov. (figs. 1--5) Diagnosis: This new species is similar to T. (P.) hylomydis Wang et Yu, 1965,but differs in the number of ventral body setae, the arrangement of dorsal setae andthe measurements of scutum (AP=15.6, PW/SD=1.95).
