【Abstract】 In this paper, a general review of the past efforts made in combating against damage of railway tunnel linings in loess zone is presented. A part of the results of investigation carried out on lining failure is also introduced.The author intends to present a semi-empirical method for designing tunnellinings in loess ground, making use of results derived from a comprehesive in-vestigation of lining behaviours, lab tests of the physical and mechani-cal properies of the loess soils, site measurements of a test tunnel and a testadit in loess ground as well as the results of MEF analysis on the stabilityof an unlined loess tunnel.更多还原
