【Abstract】 The Statistical analysis of the blood pressure of 12,004 children from 7-17 years of age in Hubei showed:(1) The mean systolic and diastolic pressure of Hubei students of both sexes increased gradually with age; (2) The mean blood pressure of children and adolescents in USA and GDR were higher than that in China and in USSR; (3) Different standards were used in different nations in defining hypertension in children.In view of the above observations an international standard for defining hypertension in children in needed.A standard expressed in relative terms would be more applicable than one expressed in absolute number,e.g.the 95 percentile would be more applicable to different nations than absolute numbers.Such a standard can be used universally to screen children at an early age to find out those with hypertensive tendency.更多还原
