【摘要】 <正> 爪套蜣螂属 Onychothecus Boucomont(1912)是金龟科、蜣螂亚科(Coprinae)中形态颇为特殊的一个属,主要特征为:各足末跗节端部两侧向后延伸呈板状,成为爪的左右护板,此即本属名称之由来。前足腔节由基向端多少逐渐扁阔,端部背面有一适可收藏跗爪部的凹窝。 本属前此仅记述一个种。本文记述一个新种,模式标本保藏在中国科学院动物研究所。更多还原

【Abstract】 Onychothecus corniclypeus Chang, sp. nov.Length: 18 mm; width: 10.5 mm. Black and rather shining. Head broad and flat. Clypeus bearing a pen-like, recurved strong horn in the middle of its anterior margin, and with a blunt tooth on either side of the base of the horn (fig.1.). Vertex hollowed, bearing coarse punctures, Pronotum convex, its front and hind margins nearly parallel, there is an anterior declivity, the upper edge of which with a short interrupted ridge; front margin emarginate in the middle. Elytron with seven deep striae, exterior to the 7th stria there is a longitudinal carina, interspaces convex. Front tibia flatten, with a triangular depression at anterior part; outer margin with three teeth, of which the middle one smaller and more close to the distal one (fig, 2). The last tarsal segment being specialized, as shown in figures 3 and 4.Holotype: ♂, Menglong-Baanna, Yunnan (1600 m, IV.27.1958) Collected by Chen Tzi-tze.
