【Abstract】 This paper gives a systematic revew of the blask stripe hamsters (Cricetulus bara-bensis) recorded from China. In this species 6 subspecies are so far recognized, of which5 occur in China, C. b. ferrugineus is considered to be synonymous with C. b. man-churicus, and a new subspecies is described as follows. Cricetulus barabensis xinganensis, subsp. nov. Holotype: No. 24558, ?, ad., collected on July 25, 1970, from Molidawa, Hei-longjiang Province, by Lin Yong-lie. Paratype: 8?, ad., 8?, ad., 8 juv., collectedin June-September 1956-1970, from Aihui, Huma, Nenjiang, Molidawa, Yakeshi, Hei-longjiang Province. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Aca-demia Sinica. Diagnosis: The new subspecies is the most dark one among the subspecies hither-to known. The upper surface is dark brown. The black. median stripe on the back ismuch wider and remarkably distinct. The outer side of each leg and the back of feetare brown. Hairs of the under surface are tipped narrowly with white, and show a dis-tinctly grey tone.更多还原
