【Abstract】 According to the clinical enlightenment that some common Chinese herbal drugs are capable of activating circulation and reducing blood stasis and effective in some immunological diseases, certain drugs(such as:motherwort, angelica, root of red herbaceous peony, peach kernel, safflower, prepared rhubarb, and licoric root) were selected as a composition. These crude drugs were extracted individually with ether, ethyl alcohol and water separately and mixed for experimental use. Experimental mice were immuned with sheep RBC as antigen. The mice of the experimentaI group were fed with the above mixture. Finally, their serum was separated, and the hemagglutinating antibody (H.A.) was assaied, and the hemolytic plaque assay was made on the spleen. The effect of the composition on H.A. titre and numbers of antibody forming cell (A.F.C.) was observed.The result appeared that the titre of H.A. and numbers of A.F.C. in the experimental group were much lower than that of the control group. It demonstrates that the composition has an immunosuppressive effect on the humoral immunity of the mice.The immunosuppressive mechanism of the composition is discussed. It is presumed that the immunosuppressive effect of this composition owes its functions in supporting the T suppressor cell rather than cell-toxing effect such as that of the corticoid and celltoxing immunosuppressive agents.更多还原
