【Abstract】 Heritablity of some important economic characters was estimated from the offsprings of 6 hybrid combinations of Oryza sativa Indicum. The value of broadsense heritability estimated by the method of analysis of variance wes higher than that of narrow-sense heritability estimated by the correlation method. And the five characters ineluding date of heading, plant height, length of panicle, weight of 1000 seeds as well as the total number of seeds per panicle, showed higher heritability in the earlier generation,and further increased as the generation advan -ced. It is therefore, possible to start the selection from F₂ generation. As the total number of tillers per plant, effective number of tillers, seed yield per plant,and the number of inferior seeds per plant generally showed lower heritability in the earlier generation, it might be selected later in high generation. Pedigree selection should be used as the main method in the breeding of the hybrid lines.That is the plant selection in F₂ generation should be emphasized not only to heading date and plant height but also to the weight of 1000 seeds and the total number of seeds, the two important compositions of yield.更多还原
