【Abstract】 Fruit trees in the Baoting vicinity, Hopeh province are seriously affected by chlorosis due to iron deficiency. This is confirmed by the high pH-value and low exchangable iron con-tent of the soil. The pH-value of the soil is about 8.1 to 8.2. The soil in Baoting is rich in carbonate. 20 cm. below the surface is a 35 cm. "black horizon", it contains no exchangable iron and the reduced iron content is considerably low.The amounts of the total iron and chlorophyll contents in both of normal and chlorotic leaves were determined. The total iron content is parallel to the chlorophyll content. Iron and chlorophyll decrease when the leaves are seriously occurred chlorosis, however, the chlorophyll a/b ratio is not affected.更多还原
