【Abstract】 The purpose of the present paper is to discuss the relationship and geographic distribution of the species of the genus Glechoma Linn. and its relationship with other genera in the Nepeteae. Moreover, it is a very typical Laurasian genus that is closely related to genera Suzukia Kudo, Phyllophyton Kudo, Meehania Britt. ex Small et Vaill., and Nepeta Linn.; especially Suzukia Kudo and Phyllophyton Kudo, which are derived from Glechoma Linn., but apparently Glechoma itself is probably derives from Meehania Britt. ex Small et Vaill., at the same time taxa will be supplied a good representative of the evolutionary tendencies of northern temperate flora.The whole Glechoma Linn, included 6 species, 2 varieties, and 2 hybrid species. In the northern Eurasia, there are 2 species and 2 hybrid species, i. e. G. hederacea Linn., G. hirsuta W. et K., the hybrid species are G. hinden-burgiana Graebn., and G. pannonica Borbas, while eastern Asia possess 5 species and 2 varieties, i. e. G. hederacea Linn. ( it is distributed only to Ili of Xinjiang of China), G. longituba (Nakai) Kupr., G. biondiana (Diels) C. Y. Wu et C. Chen, G. biondiana var. glabrescens C. Y. Wu et C. Chen, G. biondiana var. angustituba C. Y. Wu et C. Chen, G. grandis (A. Gray) Kupr., and G. sino-grandis C. Y. Wu (Figure 1).The present writer is also to clarify the nomenclatural confusions existing in the Chinense botanical literature on the crude drug Huo-Suie-Dan (活血丹). The correct botanical name for which is Glechoma longituba (Nakai) Kupr., not G. hederacea Linn., an European species, so far known only in Xinjiang of China, while G. longituba has two types of flowers, gynodioecius or gyno-monoecius. Glechoma brevituba Kupr. has been proved a synonym of G-longituba, which is based upon the gynodioecius type of flowers of the same species.更多还原
