【Abstract】 The activities of serum transaminases (SGOT and SGPT) in 4 breeds of known carcase qualities 60-day-old piglings have been investigated. Data obtained from 48 piglings were analyzed. It was found that, in general, those breeds which produce higher yield of lean meat exhibit higher transaminase activities, and vice versa. This seems to be an indirect evidence in favour of the idea that the transaminase activities may be used as a valuable referential index for the selection of stock piglings in the effort of improving the carcase quality.The correlativity between the growth rate and the transaminase activities is insignificant.更多还原
