应用S35-甲硫氨酸探讨晚期血吸虫病低清蛋白血症的形成机制

【Abstract】 Rabbits infected with Shistosoma Japonicum for three months were shown to have their plasma albumin concentration significantly decreased,and the concentration ratio of plasma albumin and globulin was found to be reversed.The latter result is very similar to that foand in patients suffering from the same disease. The amount of peritoneally or orally administered S~35-methionine incorporated into albamin per unit volume of plasma in an infected rabbit was about one-half of that in a normal animal,but the incorooration of the amino-acid into plasma globulin was increased at the same time.The turnover rates of plasma albumin and globulin in the diseased animals were abnormally low.Both the infected and normal rabbits absorbed more thaft 97% of orally administered methionine.These results indicate that the ability of the intestine to absorb digested proteins in late stage schistosomiasis is not impaired and that the hypoalbuminemia of the disease is mainly due to the functional damage of the liver for plasma albamin synthesis.
