机体在高温影响下胸導管淋巴的变化

【Abstract】 In eight dogs, infiltrated with 1% procaine locally in the neck, the thoracic duct was cannulated at the place where it empties into the left subclavian vein. When the flowing of the lymph from the thoracic duct became even, the lymph was collected in a graduated centrifuge tube previously oxalated with 10% sodium oxalate. The volume of the lymph collected was recorded, and the total leucocytes numbers, total nitrogen, NPN and chlorides in the lymph were determined separately. At the time of lymph collection venous blood was taken for the hematocrit. Later, the animals were subjected to a high environmental temperature (48-50℃) at an average relative humidity of 34 per cent. Lymph and blood were collected every 30 minutes and similar determinations were made until the animals died. The changes in the lymph and blood during hyperthermia were found as follows: (1) The hematocrit increased gradually. (2) In the most cases, the lymph flow became less than the control value. (3) In the majority of the animals, the lymph leucocytes decreased initially, followed by a tendency to recover. (4) Total nitrogen as well as protein content in the lymph first decreased and then increased. The lymph NPN increased gradually during hyperthermia. (5) The lymph chlorides content increased. The possible causes of the lymph changes during hyperthermia was discussed.
