【Abstract】 This paper gives a general review of the characteristics and the traditional field operations of ridge-farming in Heilungkiang province. As preliminary result of a field survey, the construction and adaptability of the two most commonly used horse-drawn implements, namely, the domestic plow and furrow opener, are described and analyzed.Based upon an analysis of the general requirements, the authors point out the direction of developing a system of tillage machinery for this locality; The system of suggested tillage machinery consists of two series of machine: firstly, as a major tools the tractor mounted tiller of. qeneral purpose zuith parts interchangeable for various operations such as ridge turning, planting, cultivation and fertilizer application, and secondly, the conventional tillage machinery including moldboard plows, disk harrow and rollers as a supplement to meet the need of about 15% of the total crop acreage in this province.更多还原
