【Abstract】 The present paper describes the females of four species of West China fleas hitherto unknown to science.Rhadinopsylla accola Wagner, 1930Original description based on a male specimen off Putorius sp. from River I-dju, Tibet, (of Ching Dynasty, now belongs to Qinghai) China.Diagnosis. Allied to R. angusta Tiflov, 1937, but readily separable by the following characters: (1) distance from spiracle of VIII tergite to lateral bristles much nearer than that of angusta; (2) bulga of spermatheca barrel-shaped and much longer than hilla, whereas in angusta bulga circular and shorter than hilla; (3) sinus on apical margin of VII sternite large and deep, whereas that of angusta small and relatively shallow; (Fig. 1) (1) VIII tergite with convex apical margin and 3 long bristles on the outer surface, whereas that of angusta with slightly concave apical margin and 5-7 bristles on the outer surface; (2) both distal arm of IX sternite and bristles on its ventral margin short, whereas that of angusta both longSpecimens examined. 10 and 3 ex Pitymys irene from Huang-zhung Xian, Qinghai in June, 1966; 4 ex Cricetulus kamensis, P. irene, Microtus oeconomus from Y-Zhi Xian in May, 1965.Callopsylla (s. str.) kozlovi (Wagner, 1929)Original description based on a male specimen off Microtus sp. from Tibet, (of ching Dynasty, now belongs to Qinghai) China. Diagnosis. Allied to C. dolabris (Jord. & Roth., 1011) and readily separable from the latter by: (1) apical margin of VTT sternite slightly concave at middle with both dorsal and ventral lobes convex, whereas apical margin of dolabris convex; (2) bursa copulatrix with smaller perula and paler duct (Fig. 2).Specimens examined. 17 and 22 collected in Feb., May,June, Aug., Sept. and Oct. 1965-1972, ex Microtus irene, Cricetulus kamensis, Apodemus speciosus, Rattus niriventer and Myospalax fontanieri from southeastern districts of Qinghai Province.Amphalius spirataenius Liu, Wu & Wu, 1966Original description based on a male specimen off Ochotona thibetana from Tibet, China.Diagnosis. Allied to Amphalius clarus Jord. & Roth., 1922. Separable from the latter by the following characters: (1) apical margin of VII sternite being convex and without sinus, whereas that of clarus with 2 sinuses and hence 3 lobes; (2) lower portion of VIII tergite with 18-24 short but stout bristles (subspiniform), whereas that of clarus with numerous, long but normal bristles; (3) duct of bursa copulatrix very lengthy, slender and much coiled, whereas that of clarus short, much wider (even wider than spermatheca) and somewhat curved (Fig. 3).Specimens examined. 11 and 8 collected in July-August, 1965 and May and June, 1966 ex Ochotona curzoniae, O. thomasi, and O. thibetana from Huang-zhung Xian, Da-tung Xian arid Y-shu Xian, Qinghai.The authors remarked that the VII sternite of the female of this species from Nepal figuredg by Mr. Smit (1975) is convex in outline and it may probably represent a new subspecies since another new subspecies is found in Yunnan by Prsf. K. C. Li and will be described later.Ceratophyllus breviprojectus Liu, Wu & Wu, 1966Original description based on a male specimen off Hirundo sp. from Tibet, China.Diagnosis. Close to C. avicitelli loff, 1946 and C. caliotes Jord., 1937. Female differs from that of the latter by: (1) apical margin of VII sternite with a large and deep sinus at middle, its upper and lower lobes being distinctly convex; (2) bulga of spermatheca comparatively short and broad, about twice as long as wide (Fig. 4).Specimens examined. 100 (2.5-2.8 mm long) and 72 dV (2.0-2.5 mm) ex.
