【Abstract】 The new species here described is a serious pest of the naked barley in northeastern part of Chinghai Province,West China.It is destructive to the ear of that plant in larval stage.Nanna trnncata sp.nov.Belongs to the group of N.flavipes(Fallen),in which the legs are yellow except for the mid and hind coxae,occasionally with trace of infuscous on fore femur.This new species runs to N.leucostoma(Zetterstedt)in Sack’s key,but the male can be distinguished from that of the latter chiefly in having 5th sternite black and never red.It is also different from N.klickai(Vimmer)in having the first and second joints of the antenna practically black,and not reddish yellow,from N.flavipes(Fallen)and N.multisetosum(Hackman)in having the apex of the surstylus truncated and not rounded,and from N.minuta(Becker)in having the presence of black bristles 7-11 on the anterior surface of the fore femur,and not 4-6.The characteristics of both sexes(figs.1-6),egg(fig.7),3rd instar larva(figs.8-13)and pupa(fig.14)are given in detail in the Chinese text.Locality:Shi-ning(type locality),Hwu-zhu,Chinghai Province.The materials studied were sent for identification by The Agricultural and Forestry Institute of Chinghai Province and The Institute of Plant Protection,Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences of China.The types are deposited in Shanghai Institute of Entomology.Host plants:It attacks chiefly on naked barley(Hordeum vulgare var.nudum Hook,f.)and vulgar barley(Hordeum vulgar e L.),also on wheat(Triticum aes-tivum L.),oat(Avena sativa L.),rye(Secale cereale L.),couchgrass(Agropyroa cristatum(L.)Gaertn.)etc.in Chinghai(according to data made by The Agricultural and Forestry Institute of Chinghai Province).更多还原
