【Abstract】 The present paper is a revision of the Chinese species of the Melolonthine genusExolontha Reitter. Four new species are added, a new combination is made——thetransferrence of Melolontha serrulata Gyllenhall to the present genus, and a new genus,Parexolontha, is created for the reception of Exolontha tonkinensis Moser. All the typespecimens are preserved in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica. Key to the species of Exolontha1(4)Front tibiae sharply bidentate:2(3)Elytra with a shining triangular or heart-shaped hair patch anteriorly, and a blackish V-shaped hair stripe in the middle. Length: 26.2--31.5 mm; width: 12.7--16.7 mm…………………………serrulata (Cylenhall) Exolontha omeia, sp. nov. (Figs. 1--6) Body oblong oval. Deep black-brown; hind Part of elytra reddish-brown. Bodythickly clothed with hairs; head, pronotum, scutellum and base of elytra clothed with bothlong and short hairs, among which the long ones black-brown and the shortones pale yellowin colour. Clypeus long, nearly trapezoid in form, vertex-clypeal suture slightly convexed,particularly in the middle (Fig. 2); ultimate segment of maxillary palpus rather flattened(Fig. 3). Pronotum convex, lateral margins angulate in the middle, with a few crenatesanteriorly, slightly recurved and with many crenates posteriorly, Elytra with evidentdorsal costae. Pygidium broad, shallowly depressed at distal part (?, Fig. 4). Fronttibiae sharply bidentate (Fig. 5). Two hind tibial spurs equal in length. First hindtarsite slightly shorter than the second. Body oblong oval, light brown, with the legs darker, reddish-brown. Body thicklyclothed with hairs; head, pronotum, scutellum and base of elytra clothed with long andshort hairs, among which the long ones darker in colour. Clypeus nearly oblong inshape (Fig. 7). Pronotum convexed, lateral margins densely crenated. Four dorsalcostae of elytra almost equal in width, Pygidium very broad, nearly unconvexed, withstraight distal margin (Fig. 8). Front tibiae tridentate, the basal one very weakened,First hind tarsite much shorter than the second; claws short and strong (Fig. 9). Length: 24 mm; width: 10.6--11.2 mm.
