【Abstract】 This is the third report dcaling with the Chinese May beetles of the genus Holo-trichia. Altogether 39 species belonging to the subgenus Holotrichia s.str. are recorded,of which 11 species are described as new and one species is recorded for the first timefrom this country. The author considers H. amplipennis Fairmaire to be a synonym ofH. (s.str.) oblita Faldermann. The new species are characterized briefly as follows: Holotrichia (s. str.) pilipyga, sp. nov. (Fig. 60) Brown, with head and thorax dark brown. Body oval, upper surface slightly pale-frosted. Head large in size; clypeus trapezoid in shape, densely punctured, front mar-gin slightly concave in the middle; fronto-clypeal suture evidently depressed; club of an-tennae longer than (?) or slightly shorter than (?) the radicle. Pronotum short andbroad, front margin broad, commonly with 4-5 hairs at both ends, lateral margins gentlyrounded in the middle, and with a narrow groove along lateral margin. Dorsal costa Ⅰon the elytra evidently broadened posteriorly, not touching the sutural costa. Pygidium and sterna of abdomen densely and feebly punctured, every puncture bearing a short hair(Fig. 60a). Ridge of hind tibia complete. First hind-tarsite much longer than the 2nd. ?, legs slender, ultimate sternum very short; genitalia as shown in Figure 37. ?, legs stronger than those of the male, ultimate sternum longer and larger. Length: 18.8-22.6 mm; width: 10.3-13.2 mm. Holotype: ?, Yunnan: Kunming, 1930 m, June 1, 1957. Allotype: ?, Yunnan:Kunming. Paratypes: 19??, 16??, Yunnan: Kunming, Lunan, Longling, Kintung,Kinping, Shishong-Baanna. Holotrichia (s. str.) omeia, sp. nov. Dark-brown, very shining. Body elongate. Head large and broad, clypeus roughlypunctured, strongly concave in the middle of front margin; vertex with scattered punc-tures, and with long hairs; antennae long and slender, with the club evidently shorter thanthe five preceding segments taken together. Pronotum densely punctured; front marginbroad, with a few seta-bearing punctures; lateral margins slightly rounded in the middleand with some seta-bearing crenates anteriorly; front angle acute and strongly protrudingforward, hind angle roundly obtuse. Scutellum semi-circular in shape, with scatteredpunctures. Elytra with evident dorsal costae, dorsal costa Ⅰ considerably broadened pos-teriorly, not touching the sutural costa. Pygidium and sterna of abdomen finely anddensely punctured, every puncture bearing the minutest hair. Ridge of hind tibia com-plete. First hind-tarsite much longer than the 2nd. ?, ultimate sternum short and small; genitalia as shown in figures 31, 32. ?, ultimate segment of abdomen pig-mouth like (Fig. 61). Length: 20.5-21.7 mm; width: 11 mm. Holotype: ?, Szechuan: Omeishan, 1200 m, June 22, 1955. Allotype: ?, Sze-chuan: Omeishan, 550-750 m, June 29, 1957. Holotrichia (s. str.) ovata, sp. nov. (Fig. 62) Brown or dark-brown; head, thorax, scutellum and legs darker, surface clearly fros-ted; head and legs rather shining. Body oblong, oval; clypeus broader than vertex, frontmargin nearly straight, punctures large and rugose; fronto-vertex densely and rugoselypunctured, on disc with a pair of rather low hillocks widely separated; club of the an-tennae a little longer than radicle (?). Pronotum finely and moderately punctured,front margin smooth, lateral margins strongly expanded in the middle, with some seta-bearing crenates anteriorly; both front and hind angles obtuse. Scutellum with scatteredpunctures, and with naked median line. Elytra finely punctured, dorsal costa Ⅰ slightlybroadened posteriorly, not touching the sutural costa. Pygidium lange, punctures thin.Hind tibia with a complete ridge. Ultimate tarsite with 5 apical bristles; 1st hind-tarsiteslightly longer than the 2nd (?). ?, ultimate sternum short, evidently depressed posteriorly.
