【Abstract】 A systematic study of catalytic dehydrogenation of diethylbe;izene in the presence of ZnO type catalyst by varying temperature, rate and dilution ratio was undertaken. The most favorable condition was found to be at 600-640℃ with a rate of feeding at 1.96 L. H. S. V. or higher and dilution ratio (DEB: H2O in mole ratio) of 1:2.8-12.1. The highest yield of divinylbenzene in the dehydrogenated mixture was 10.4%.A new gravimetric analytical method to determine the different constituents in the mixture was described. In comparing with standard sample, the possible error was estimated to be around ±2%. The amount of side chain fission in the dehydrogenation process has been discussed especially in relating to the rate of feeding and the reation temperature.
