大苇莺雏鸟的耐寒性及体温调节

【摘要】 <正> 大苇莺(Acrocephalus arundinaceus orientalis)在北京地区,于6—8月间繁殖。繁殖期间成鸟与雏鸟都是以昆虫为食,对农业有一定的益处。我们在对大苇莺的生物学研究时,曾做过一些雏鸟的耐寒试验。关于大苇莺雏鸟的体温调节及耐寒性等问题,至今尚未见有报道。故将我们进行的试验结果加以整理,作如下报道。

【Abstract】 Cold-resistance and development of thermoregulation of nestlings of the eastern great reed warbler (Acrodephalus arundinaceus orientalis) are studied in this paper.Figure 1 shows changes of body temperature of nestlings to exposure of about 5℃ ambient temperature.Figure 2 depicts the development of thermoregulatioa and growth of body weight and feathers.At about 5℃ ambient temperature,the body temperature of 0-8 days’ nestlings which are poikilothermie is declining rapidly.But on account of the increasing body weight and feathering,the rate of the decline of body temperature gradually diminishes with the age of the nestlings.The establishment of homeotherm is formed just between the 8th and 9th days of age.After the establishment of homeotherm,the amount of energy consumption for maintaining a constant body temperature has increased,and their accumulation of energy in the body of nestlings has decreased,so that the body weight of nestlings at 9th day of age not only ceases to increase,but is also apparently reduced.The nestlings without the capacity of thermoregulation can be tolerated at a relatively lower body temperature such as 10-3.5℃.Such tolerance is decreased with age.In cold weather,the nestlings in poikilothermie manner fall in a contradiction which exists between the brooding and the feeding.This contradiction is unfavorable for the growth and development of nestlings.The establishment of the homeothermic mechanism of nestlings is one of their intrinsic physiological bases for leaving the nest.
