猪肾虫的防治研究
STUDIES ON THE CONTROL OF THE SWINE KIDNEY-WORM (STEPHANURUS DENTATUS DIESING)
【摘要】 <正> 猪肾虫(Stephanurus dentatus)是热带和亚热带地区严重为害养猪业的一种寄生虫,受其侵袭的仔猪生长发育不良,重至死亡;菜猪体消瘦不长膘;公猪性欲减退;母猪不孕,流产死胎。幼虫侵入猪体后在各器官组织中移行,成虫害生于输尿管附近组织的包囊中,药物不易渗入,因而治疗无效。成虫寄生于猪体中的生活时间可达2一3年;产卵多,雌虫每天随猪尿排出大量的虫卵;发育快,虫卵在16℃以上便可发育,在27℃下经3—4天就发育为感染期幼虫;母猪感染普遍,在哺乳期的仔猪因紧跟母猪而不易隔离,口吞食和皮
【Abstract】 The swine kidney-worm is an important parasite in tropical and subtropical regions, but so far no known drug can effectively control the worm. The principal facts presented in this paper may be summarized briefly as follows.1. The authors made an investigation on the seasonal infestation of soils with larvae of kidney worms in areas surrounding pig-sheds and other places in piggeries in Pukien. Observations on the viability of cultured larvae indicated that June and July are the most favorable time for the infection of kidney worms, while in the winter season, from December to March, the larval development is arrested, hence no new infection occurs at this time. Taking advantage of this epizootic character, it was deemed desirable to breed young pigs in winter. These piglets will soon be isolated, and kept as the bleeders for later generations. Since they are free from infection, it will then easier to prevent yonng ones from acquiring the kidney worms.2. In our labratory, observations were made on the viability of larvae in different types of soil. It was found that the sandy and clay soils are not favourable for their survival, as does the moist loam soil. Sunshine and dessication will kill them in a short time. The authors put the infective larvae in polluted soils treated with saline solution in the proportion of 50 cc. of 3% saline per 100 g of soil, the treatment killed 96% of the larvae after one hour, while in 4% concentration all of them were killed. Based on this result, we are of the opinion that it is very important to select suitable place for the environment of pig-sheds. It should be dry and should have plenty of sunlight. Since salt water can be used to destroy the infective larvae, it is suggested to establish piggeries on the sea shore.3. Treatment with tetramisole sulfamidini administered orally at dose of 30 mg/ kg body weight mixed with food given is very effective. By using this, eggs eliminated from the urine of infected pigs can be prevented for a period of 1,5-2 months. It is suggested that the sows should be thus treated, so that piggeries without contaminated eggs and viable larvae will be produced and the infection of piglings can be avoided. Therefore, after the sows of stephanuriasis are farrowed, place them in the clean breeding stock, and then treat with the above drug. When weaning, the piglets should be separated from the infected pigs immediately and reared in the clean hogpens. Using this method, healthful pigs can be obtained.
