云南玉龙山鸟类的垂直分布
ON THE VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF BIRDS ON MT. YU-LUNG, NORTHWESTERN YUNNAN
【摘要】 <正> 玉龙山在云南西北部,位于北纬27°10′,东经100°10′处。过去,鸟类方面,仅有Rothschild(1921)、Riley(1926,1931)等一些外国人发表过区系报告,但对该大山的鸟类垂直分布情况,迄今尚未十分明了,故我们提出本篇报导,以供今后进一步研究的参考。 1960年3、4月和6、7月,我们曾到丽江县城及玉龙山进行采集,共获得标本757号,
【Abstract】 Mt. Yu-Lung is situated at 100°10’E., 27°10’N., in northwestern Yunnan. A collection of birds was made there during March-April and June-July, 1960, consisting of 757 specimens, which are found to belong to 148 species and 3 subspecies. To this number, another 132 species and 5 subspecies are added from literature sources, thus totalling 280 species (with 9 subspecies in addition) under 17 orders and 44 families.The mountain is first divided into 27 units of 100 meters each. The percentage of similarity between two adjacent units may be calculated by the -following formula:Percentage of similarity between two adjacent units= Number of specirs common to both units ×2/Total number ol species ×100It has been found that the differences between the percentages of similarities of adjacent units are usually below 5%. There arc, however, cases in which the degree of difference is greater, amounting to more than 10%. In accordance with these comparatively greater degrees of differences, the mountainous region may be divided into 5 vertical zones: (1) Hill-foot zone (2,400-3,000m), (2) low-hill zone (3,100-3,400 m), (3) mid-hill zone (3,400-3,700 m), (4) high-hill zone (3,700-4,000 m), and (5) hill-top zone (4,000-5,000 m), a condition similar to that of Mt. Omei (Cheng et al., 1963). No birds have yet been recorded from above 5,000 m.There are altogether 187 species of breeding birds with records of altitudes, belonging to 39 families. The hill-foot zone ranks highest in the number of families as well as of breeding species, with 36 families and 128 species. The mid-hill zone ranks highest in the number of species of Muscicapidae, occupying 3/4 of the total number of species of this family recorded from the whole mountain range.With respect to their faunal affinities as evidenced by their ranges of geographical distribution, the birds recorded may be classified into 3 types: (1) Species that are distributed in both Palearctic and Oriental realms; (2) those being entirely or chiefly distributed in the Palearctic realm; (3) those being entirely or chiefly distributed in the Oriental realm. As to those species which are more or less confined in their distribution to China or to Himalayas or this particular region, they may be classified into (2) or (3) type with reference to the altitudinal heights of their breeding ranges as well as the faunal affinities of closely related species. It is shown by statistics that in the hill-foot zone species showing an Oriental affinity are more numerous than those of Palearctic affinity, whereas in all the other zones, the reverse is apparently the case.In comparison with Mt. Omei, it is pointed out that both Mt. Omei and Mt. Yu-Lung belong to a transitional area between the Oriental and Palearctic realms, and further that Mt. Yu-Lung, though more southern latitudinally than Mt. Omei, is more similar in its avifaunal characteristics to the Palearctic realm than Mt. Omei, apparently on account of the faunal relationships of its geographical location as well as its greater altitudinal heights (2,400-6,000 m, in contrast to 500-3,200 m of Mt. Omei).
