东北老采伐迹地的类型及鼠类区系的初步研究
A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE DIFFERENT TYPESOF OLD CUT-OVER LANDS IN NORTHEASTERNCHINA AND THEIR RODENT FAUNA
【Abstract】 Basing on a study of 17 samples, each of which is at least 2 hactares in area, the authors have divdded the old cut-over lands of North-eastern China into 5 types, namely, 1) sparse forest, 2) oak (Quercus mongolica) forest, 3) hazel-nut (Corylus heterophylla) bush-woods, 4} barren fields and 5) meadow. In the sparse forest, the rodent fauna is quite the same as that of the virgin forest, the dominant species being wood mouse (Apode-mus spetiosus), red-backed voles (Clethrionomys rutilus and C. rufocanus), with the striped field mouse (Apodemits agrarius) beginning to invade such areas. In the oak forest type of the cut-over land, the voles diminish in number. In hazel-nut bush-woods and barren fields, voles have basically dis-apeared, but the striped field mice are increasing in number. In the barren fields, they occupy 70.4% of the rodents’ total population. In the meadow, in addition to the above 4 species, there is a considerable number of reed voles (Microtus maximowiczii), which may be considered as its characteristic species. The role of the rodents in forest regeneration has also been estimated.
