【Abstract】 One hundred and forty-eight oncomelaniid snails known to be capable of transmitting oriental schistosomiasis which were collected from 7 villages near Soochow-Wusih, Kiangsu, China, were subjected to individnal observation regarding the nunber of whorls, length and width., number of axial ribs for the last three whorls and denticte count of the radular teeth. It was found that the denticle count varies to such an extent that it is not a dependable criterion for separating species or genus in this group of snails. The same conclusion is suggested for shell characters.更多还原
